The Fine Print Theatre Company
Theatre has always been a way for a group of artists to hold a mirror up to their community, and seeing themselves reflected a community is given the opportunity to learn and to grow. Theatre gives us a record of our time, and the stories of how we lived through it.
At The Fine Print Theatre Company, we develop and produce new plays. Our work is focused on the social and political issues that shape our place in history. We tell human stories, experienced through the lives of people confronted by the events that make headlines.
We explore the way our community is affected by cultural themes like racism or poverty, immigration or health-care, the War on Terror or Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. We do it in a personal way, providing our audience an intimate glimpse inside the lives of everyday people.
People who are caught up in the struggle to get by, to hold a job, or maintain a marriage. People just like us, whose lives happen to be bound to the things we see in the news every day.
Our plays and the artists who bring them to life serve the community, providing art’s most precious function; to educate and enlighten. To make real and personal the enormous and unmanageable. To bring our society’s most important issues out of the headlines and home, to the kitchen table.
